In the weeks and months preceding the opening of the photo art gallery I found myself at times vacillating between the euphoria or excitement of embarking on a new creative journey and a deep sense of emotional exhaustion brought on by the practical aspects of starting such an endeavor.
It seems that just as in life a balance is necessary in order to remain focused on one's goals and aspirations even within the realm of creativity as I have found out of late. I must admit to you now that those recent experiences in practicality can be at times a distraction at best. Perhaps those moments will serve as an article to be shared with you in a future journal posting however let me just say that in spite of all of them I still remain even keeled and ready to make my way out into the uncharted waters that lie ahead.
Since this post is serving as the first one on the gallery's journal I would like to take a few moments to share my vision as to what a reader can expect to find in the future articles that will reside here.
First and foremost this journal is intended as a medium in which to share the art and cultural experiences that I have during my travels throughout Maryland's Chesapeake Bay region. While at times a given post may seem more of an editorial in its tone the focus will always be on bringing both the arts and cultural activities found here to the forefront.
Second the journal is intended to provide a way for me, the photographer, to express in greater detail, more about the photographs featured in the galleries that perhaps can not be adequately addressed within the space allotted. There is an expression that a picture is worth a thousand words and I have found that there are times when a photographer needs to use a few less than that in order to bring more clarity to a particular image.
Finally in my travels throughout the Bay area I am fortunate to be able to attend the many festivals and events held here throughout the year and this journal will permit me to share those experience with you the reader as well.
I invite you to return periodically to read more about the arts, culture and events taking place in Maryland's Chesapeake Bay region.
Note: currently the photograph featured in this article is not on display in the Main Gallery
